Nepal In Britain Week

To mark the inauguration of the new building and over forty years of presence and services to Nepal, the British Council, with support from the British Embassy and Nepal Britain Chamber of Commerce & Industry, organized a 'BRITAIN IN NEPAL WEEK' commencing from November 25, 2000.
The music show comprising the fusion of Eastern and Western music presented by renowned British band 'Network of Sparks' and Nepalese 'Sur Sudha' with the assistant of Mr. Rajendra Kurna and Raju Agrawal of Nepal Radio attracted a large number of Kathmanduties to Birendra International Convention Center.
Half a dozen British films were exhibited at the Russian Cultural Center. A human rights film festival, first of its type held in Nepal was also organized.
The whole week provided a showcase of the modern UK apart of providing entertainment and focusing on serious issues like human rights at the same time.The British Council has now moved into its new building at Lainchour, in the British Embassy premises and will provide its services in enlarged area and with state of the art technological support.

British Food and Whisky Promotion Evening
In association with the British Embassy and Hotel Soaltee Crowne Plaza, Kathmandu, Nepal Britain Chamber of Commerce & Industry is organizing an evening of "Cheese and Single Malt Delights" at the Megha Hall at Soaltee Crowne Plaza, Kathmandu on December 8, 2000. It aims at providing an opportunity to taste high qualities "Single Malt Whiskies" and British food, specially cheese and other bakery products. Similar type of event was organized two years earlier at the British Embassy.
