Membership Charter of the Nepal Britain Chamber of Commerce & Industry (NBCCI)
Introduction
This Membership Charter outlines the categories of membership, eligibility criteria, rights, duties, fees, benefits, and privileges offered by the Nepal Britain Chamber of Commerce & Industry (NBCCI). NBCCI is dedicated to promoting, strengthening, and facilitating trade, investment, business cooperation, and professional partnerships between Nepal and the United Kingdom.
Categories of Membership
NBCCI shall have the following categories of membership:
- General Membership
- Lifetime Membership
- Associate Membership (UK-based organizations)
GENERAL MEMBERSHIP
Eligibility Criteria
General Membership shall be open to:
- Any Nepalese organization registered with the Government of Nepal, including companies, SMEs, startups, NPOs, academic institutions, and professional bodies.
- Organizations with existing or intended industrial, commercial, economic, or professional dealings with the United Kingdom.
Rights
- Full voting rights in the Chamber.
- Right to stand for election to the Executive Committee.
- Right to participate in all NBCCI general meetings, programs, and activities.
- Eligibility to propose and second motions in meetings.
Duties
- Submit a duly completed membership application.
- Pay the prescribed membership fees.
- Abide by the rules & regulations of the Chamber as per its constitution.
- Maintain active engagement in Chamber activities.
Fees
Annual Membership Fee: NPR 15,000
Benefits
- Access to all NBCCI events, seminars, workshops, and networking forums.
- Opportunity to participate in B2B linkages, trade missions, and UK–Nepal business promotion
- activities.
- Voting rights and eligibility for leadership roles within the Chamber.
- Use of NBCCI platforms for business promotion, announcements, and market outreach.
- Access to government and diplomatic engagement programs facilitated by NBCCI.
- Preferential member rates for premium events and programs.
- Access to business intelligence, insights, and updates related to UK-Nepal trade.
LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP
Eligibility Criteria
- Any Nepalese organization fitting the criteria of General Membership.
- Organizations wishing to express long-term commitment to Nepal–UK bilateral business cooperation.
Rights
- All rights enjoyed by General Members, including:
- Full voting rights.
- Right to stand for elections.
- Participation in all NBCCI events and meetings.
Duties
- Submission of the required membership application.
- Upholding NBCCI’s objectives and code of conduct.
- Abide by the rules & regulations of the Chamber as per its constitution.
- Active participation in Chamber activities.
Fees
Lifetime Membership Fee: NPR 100,000 (One-time Payment)
Benefits
- Lifetime exemption from annual renewal fees.
- All benefits available to General Members.
- Priority access to NBCCI events, trade delegations, and exclusive programs.
- Special recognition as a long-term institutional supporter of Nepal-UK business relations.
- Featured listing on NBCCI’s official website and publications.
- Priority consideration for speaking roles, business showcases, and networking facilitation.
- Access to high-level business advocacy programs in Nepal and the United Kingdom.
- Enhanced visibility in Chamber activities, promotional materials, and international missions.
- Additional premium benefits introduced periodically.
- Visa Recommendation Letter for UK travel, exclusively for Lifetime Members.
ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP
Eligibility Criteria
Associate Membership shall be open to:
- Any organization established in the United Kingdom.
- Organizations with industrial, commercial, economic, or professional relations with Nepal.
Rights
- Participation in NBCCI programs and activities.
- Access to NBCCI communication channels, updates, and circulars.
- Ability to collaborate and engage in bilateral business dialogues.
Note: Associate members shall not have voting rights and shall not be eligible to contest in Chamber elections.
Duties
- Submit a prescribed application form.
- Upholding NBCCI’s objectives and code of conduct.
- Pay annual fees as applicable.
Fees
Annual Associate Fee: 100 GBP or NPR 19,000.
Benefits
- Access to bilateral networking platforms connecting UK and Nepal industries.
- Opportunities to engage with Nepali businesses for investment, trade, and partnerships.
- Invitations to selected NBCCI programs, trade shows, and business missions.
- Access to NBCCI advisory and facilitation support for exploring business prospects in Nepal.
- Brand visibility through participation in Chamber activities.
Membership Approval Process
- Submission of the prescribed membership application.
- Review and approval by the Executive Committee.
- Confirmation of the receipt of payment.
- Membership becomes effective from the date of Executive Committee approval.
Cessation of Membership
Membership may be terminated if:
- A member fails to meet ongoing eligibility conditions.
- The organization is dissolved or liquidated.
- Fails to pay the membership fees or resigns
- The member engages in activities contrary to the objectives or integrity of NBCCI (subject to EC decision).
Conclusion
This Membership Charter serves as the guiding document for all membership categories within NBCCI. Through this framework, NBCCI aims to foster meaningful partnerships, promote bilateral economic relations, and support the growth of businesses engaged in Nepal-United Kingdom cooperation
