The Embassy of Nepal in London successfully hosted the Nepal–UK Economic Partnership Forum 2026 under the theme “Promoting Nepal–UK Economic Partnership through Trade, Investment, Technology and Outsourcing.” The forum brought together policymakers, business leaders, investors, technology experts, chamber representatives, entrepreneurs, and members of the Nepali diaspora to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation and identify new opportunities for trade, investment, and business collaboration.
The Nepal Britain Chamber of Commerce & Industry (NBCCI) participated in the forum, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening commercial relations between Nepal and the United Kingdom through strategic partnerships and institutional collaboration.
NBCCI Reinforces Commitment to Nepal–UK Trade Relations
Addressing the forum, Dr. Roshan Rathi, President of NBCCI, highlighted the Chamber’s ongoing efforts to deepen Nepal–UK commercial engagement by promoting stronger private sector cooperation, facilitating investment opportunities, and expanding business networks between the two countries.
He emphasized that sustained collaboration between business communities and institutions is essential to unlocking new opportunities and supporting long-term economic growth.
NBCCI and West London Chamber Sign Memorandum of Understanding
A major highlight of the forum was the virtual signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Nepal Britain Chamber of Commerce & Industry (NBCCI) and the West London Chamber of Commerce.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the West London Chamber of Commerce by Mr. Alan Rides, Chief Executive Officer, and Dr. Renu Raj, Deputy Chair, while Dr. Roshan Rathi, President of NBCCI, signed virtually from Kathmandu.
The MoU establishes a framework for enhanced institutional cooperation, with a shared commitment to promoting bilateral trade, facilitating investment opportunities, strengthening business networks, and encouraging greater collaboration between the private sectors of Nepal and the United Kingdom.
Advancing Trade, Investment and Innovation
The forum featured discussions on key areas of economic cooperation, including trade, investment, technology, digital innovation, outsourcing, market access, and business collaboration. Participants exchanged perspectives on creating a more enabling environment for investment, strengthening institutional partnerships, and fostering innovation-led economic growth.
These discussions highlighted the importance of continued dialogue between governments, businesses, and industry stakeholders in advancing Nepal–UK economic relations.
Building Stronger Partnerships for the Future
With the participation of more than 150 policymakers, parliamentarians, business leaders, investors, entrepreneurs, and chamber representatives, the forum demonstrated the growing momentum of Nepal–UK economic engagement.
NBCCI extends its appreciation to the Embassy of Nepal in London for organizing this important platform for collaboration and looks forward to working closely with the West London Chamber of Commerce and other stakeholders to implement the objectives of the MoU and further strengthen bilateral trade and investment relations between Nepal and the United Kingdom.
